The official flat taxi fares are €55 and €40; a pre-booked car is ≈ €75 from either, and it adds a name sign, flight tracking, 60 minutes of waiting — and no queue at the rank after a night flight.

Visitors underestimate Civitavecchia. The cruise port is 80 km away; the train means a port shuttle, staircases and a timetable that cares nothing for your boarding time. A car at a fixed price takes you from the door to the gangway in about an hour, and on a port day we run “Rome in a day” there and back, with a guaranteed return.

In the city itself, booking ahead is simply calmer: ZTL camera zones, taxi queues at Termini and surging app prices all make a fixed price the sensible choice. You are met by a licensed local driver; we confirm his name and the car details the day before. Payment is made on the spot, by card or cash, with nothing upfront.
