Which Tignes you need
Tignes is several villages: Tignes-le-Lac by the lake, Val Claret by the lifts to the glacier, Le Lavachet, Tignes 1800 and Les Brévières lower down. They are up to fifteen minutes apart on the hairpins, so give us the address when you book.
The glacier and the Espace Killy
Above the village rises the Grande Motte glacier, 3,656 metres high: the season starts here earlier than at most resorts. Together with Val d’Isère, Tignes forms the Espace Killy — about 300 kilometres of pistes on one ski pass.
