In winter, only through the tunnel
The shortest road from Italy to the Tarentaise valley crosses the Little St Bernard Pass, but it is closed in winter — usually from November to the end of May. So the driver goes through the Mont Blanc tunnel, along the A40 to Albertville and on to Moûtiers, where the hairpins climb to Courchevel. It is longer, but reliable in any weather.

Courchevel is several villages at different heights: Le Praz (1300), Courchevel Village (1550), Moriond (1650) and the best-known, Courchevel 1850, with its boutiques and mountain altiport. Tell us where your hotel is when you book: the hairpins make up to twenty minutes’ difference, and we take you to the door, not the square.
The Three Valleys and honest arithmetic
Courchevel is part of the Three Valleys — about 600 kilometres of pistes on one ski pass together with Méribel and Val Thorens. The transfer is ≈ €690 per car: for four people that is €172.50 each; a minivan for up to eight passengers is ≈ €870.
To be honest: if there is a flight to Geneva, Chambéry or Lyon, Courchevel is closer from there — two to three hours. A transfer from Milan makes sense when you are flying into Italy, combining the trip with Milan or travelling as a large group in a minivan.
