Moûtiers is the last stop before the climb
All roads into the Three Valleys meet at Moûtiers: the railway station is here, and the fork for Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens. From Moûtiers to Méribel is eighteen kilometres of hairpins, in winter with chains and snowploughs. On Saturdays in season the valley is jammed — the driver leaves with time to spare.
Méribel or Mottaret
Méribel Centre at 1,450 metres is a village of Savoyard-style chalets with shops and restaurants. Mottaret at 1,750 metres is higher, closer to the lifts towards Val Thorens, with ski-in, ski-out. Tell us the village when you book: they are six kilometres apart.
The Three Valleys and the price
One ski pass covers about 600 kilometres of pistes. In 2023 Méribel hosted the Alpine Ski World Championships together with Courchevel. The transfer is ≈ €680 per car, €170 each for four people; a minivan for up to eight passengers is ≈ €860.
If there is a flight to Geneva, Chambéry or Lyon, Méribel is closer from there. From Milan the transfer pays off when you are flying into Italy or travelling as a large group: a minivan for eight is ≈ €860 — about €108 each.
