Train to Trento, then the Rendena valley

From Bergamo you take the train to Trento with a change, then a Trentino Trasporti bus climbs the Rendena valley in about two hours. That is the longest leg, and in winter it runs on a mountain road. Door to door, count on five hours and two changes.

A seasonal coach once a day is not a service

In season direct coaches appear from Milan and Verona, and their timetable is easy to mistake for a regular link. In practice it is one departure a day, tied to its own time rather than to your landing: if the plane is late or arrives in the evening, the next one is twenty-four hours away. Seats are booked in advance.

The transfer

≈ €380 per car, 2 hours 50 minutes from the terminal to your hotel door. The price is agreed before you fly, the driver tracks the flight and waits with a name sign, skis and boards travel free, and winter tyres and chains are in every car. For four people that is €95 each instead of five hours and two changes.

In daylight the train and bus work: €25–40 against €380. A car wins on an evening arrival, with a group, and because it does not depend on a single seasonal departure.
