The Leonardo Express
It leaves straight from the terminal every 15 minutes, non-stop to Termini. €14, with children under 12 free when accompanied. If your hotel is not near Termini, add a taxi or the metro from the station.
The FL1 local train
Cheaper (€8) and useful if you are heading for Trastevere or Tiburtina: it bypasses Termini. Services are less frequent at weekends.
Taxi and transfer
Airport taxis charge a flat €55 within the walls (make sure the meter is not “forgotten”). A private transfer is ≈ €80, but the driver is already waiting with a name sign, the flight is tracked, an hour of waiting is included, and you pay on the spot.
Travelling light and heading for Termini? The Leonardo Express is the best choice. With suitcases, children, or a hotel in the centre, a transfer costs about the same as a taxi but without the queue and with the pickup guaranteed.
